Start your Fuchsia Hanging Baskets!

If you are looking to start planting summer flowering annuals then now is a great time to start your Fuchsias. Whether you are planting them in hanging baskets, containers, or in the garden Fuchsias are a great early-blooming annual. They can tolerate the colder temperatures of early spring and will flower all summer long. Most Fuchsias will flower right through September and October until the hard frosts of winter begin.

Fuchsias are one of the easiest annuals to grow. They come in both upright and trailing forms. They enjoy a shady or partially shady location. They prefer slightly moist soil, and regular water, and should be fed with fertilizer to increase the number of flowers. When the flowers are finished blooming you should remove the seed pod that starts to develop in order to encourage more blooms.
