Growing & Planting Guide

  • Timing: Plant corms in the fall before the ground freezes hard (or in early spring once severe frost passes in colder regions).
  • Depth: Plant 2 inches (5 cm) deep. (Tip: Soak the hard, dormant corms in room-temperature water for 3 to 4 hours before planting to kickstart sprouting).
  • Spacing: Space corms roughly 4 inches (10 cm) apart.
  • Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade.
  • Soil: Fast-draining, loose, and fertile soil; ensure it is not too wet or heavy to protect the corms from moisture rot.
